Atlantic Hurricane Forecast Map
This map shows Atlantic tropical systems (the strongest of which are hurricanes.) It shows the current forecast track of each storm. To achieve the status of a Tropical Storm, maximum SUSTAINED winds must reach at least 39 mph. To reach Hurricane status the maximum SUSTAINED wind must be at least 74 mph. The highest winds are found near the center of the storm.

Only the CENTER (eye) of the storm is marked with a predicted path. Actual stormy weather may extend outward from the center by several hundred miles depending on the physical size of the storm.
